Established in 1928 amidst an economic downturn, the Festa dell'Uva (Grape Festival) was conceived to boost grape consumption. In those early days, Tuscan farmers would embark on a journey to Impruneta, their oxen and carts laden with their finest produce. A cornerstone of the festival, and a tradition that endures today, is the highly anticipated cart competition.

Each September, the four districts of Impruneta dedicate themselves to constructing extraordinary and imaginative carts. These magnificent creations take center stage in a vibrant parade through Piazza Buondelmonti, the town's main square. If you're fortunate enough to be staying in one of our villas near Florence, we highly recommend experiencing the festivities firsthand. Immerse yourself in a day filled with diverse activities, including a bustling local market, lively dancing, captivating live music, and engaging theatrical performances.

Among Tuscany's many wine festivals, the Bravìo delle Botti stands out as a truly unique and challenging event. This thrilling barrel race pits eight districts against each other: Cagnano, Collazzi, Le Coste, Gracciano, Poggiolo, San Donato, Talosa, and Voltaia, all nestled within the historic city center. Competitors vie for a coveted painted cloth by rolling massive 80-kilogram barrels up a demanding uphill course that stretches over a kilometer.
